**NEW** North Wales Supported Employment Strategy for people with Learning Disabilities
On behalf of the North Wales Learning Disability Partnership Group, we are delighted to share with you the North Wales Supported Employment Strategy for people with Learning Disabilities (2024 to 2029). At the heart of the strategy is the voice of people with learning disabilities and the step change they told is needed to enable more people to have equal access to paid employment.
The strategy aims to empower individuals with learning disabilities by promoting their access to paid employment while respecting their choices and fostering inclusive communities. It underscores the potential for personal growth and improved health and wellbeing when individuals with learning disabilities are gainfully employed which in turn may reduce their need for local authority funded services.
The primary way the strategy will be implemented across North Wales is by integrating the North Wales Supported Employment Model within learning disability social work services in partnership with specialist supported employment services following the BASE UK Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) model fidelity standards.

Supported Decision Making Documents
We are pleased to be able to share this practical guide to supported decision making. Paradigm worked with citizens, families, North Wales Together and others to develop this bilingual resource. It is free to download. A limited number of hard copies are available by contacting us on ldtransformation@flintshire.gov.uk.
Direct Payments Toolkit Documents
The attached leaflets were developed in partnership with Mark Cooper from Flintshire County Council and All Wales Parent and Carer Forum.
They were developed following consultation with family members who said they needed more accessible information on who is eligible for Direct Payments and what they can be used for.
The leaflets summarise the parts of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 that deal with eligibility for care and support and Direct Payments.

What is the Project about?
Our aim is to support people and organisations to make sure that people with learning disabilities are able to live a great life. The North Wales Learning Disability Strategy 2018-2023 set the direction for this work. We are now working with lots of different people and organisations to find out what is working well, and how we can support changes where they are needed.
The Learning Disability Transformation Project is funded by Welsh Government. We are responsible to the North Wales Regional Partnership Board. You can view their webpage by clicking here.
What have we achieved since 2019
The project has been up and running since May 2019 and as a team we have been working hard with our project partners to deliver on a number of initiatives to put the wheels in motion to deliver the North Wales Learning Disability Strategy. Take a look at some of our project highlights in the film. We hope you enjoy!
