If you are an employer who would like to offer more opportunities for people with learning disabilities, there are a few things you can do:

Contact your local council, or organisations such as Remploy, Engage to Change and Down’s Syndrome Association, to find out about training and support available to you and potentially find the perfect person to fill your vacancy.

Sign up to be a Disability Confident Employer.

Think about how accessible your recruitment process and workplace is.

Remploy provide some useful information, including some case studies and a guidance leaflet. Also remember that individuals can apply for Access to Work funding to help put in place the extra support individuals might need in the workplace because of their disability.
