Strengthening Online Safety: Our Collaboration with ARC England
As part of our Learning Disabilities Transformation Programme across North Wales, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside ARC England, a respected provider based in England, to deliver impactful online safety training for the Support Networks of people with a Learning Disability.
This collaboration was born out of a shared commitment to safeguarding and empowering individuals with learning disabilities in an increasingly digital world. Together, we developed and delivered training that covered key areas such as:
- Understanding Online Harms
- Recognising Grooming Behaviours
- Navigating Social Media Safely
- Identifying Indicators of Potential Harm and Abuse
The training was designed to be practical, accessible, and relevant to the everyday experiences of support staff, families, and carers. It aimed to build confidence in recognising risks and responding appropriately to concerns.
In addition to the training, we co-created a generic safeguarding policy that can be adapted to fit within the protocols of different organisations. This resource is intended to support consistent and proactive safeguarding practices across services.
We’re proud of the work we’ve done together and grateful to ARC England for their expertise and collaboration. This initiative marks an important step in ensuring that people with a learning disability—and those who support them—are better equipped to stay safe online.
