Activities and Funded Projects

Soft Play Activities (0–7 Years Old) and Their Families

Fun, Inclusive Play for Young Children and Families on Anglesey.

North Wales Together was funding soft play sessions on Anglesey for children aged 0–7 with learning disabilities and their families. These sessions were designed to:

  • Create more opportunities for children to play and socialise outside of school
  • Encourage siblings to enjoy activities together in inclusive, mainstream settings
  • Help families connect, share experiences, and support one another in a relaxed environment

A Family Support Co-ordinator from Mencap was present at every session to offer guidance, support, and information as needed.

This project was funded until 31 March 2025.

Beyond Boundaries North Wales

Building Inclusive Outdoor Adventures.

North Wales Together funded Disability Awareness Training at the Bendrigg Trust in Kendal for outdoor and activity providers across North Wales.

This training responded to a need identified by providers who wanted to offer more inclusive experiences for children and young people with learning disabilities.

As a result, the Beyond Boundaries North Wales Forum was created. In partnership with The Outdoor Partnership and the Beyond Bendrigg Initiative, the forum:

  • Shares best practices among outdoor providers
  • Identifies future training needs
  • Explores funding opportunities
  • Promotes inclusive outdoor activities

The goal is to increase access to outdoor pursuits for children and young people with learning disabilities across North Wales.
